How Can We Redefine the CD Player Experience?
When launching the R400 project, Syitren’s design team found Gen Z has been driving the physical music revival since the 2020s, desiring unique design but being flexible on tech and price. Yet most domestic CD players under RMB 500 fell short. To make R400 affordable yet refined, they created a detachable shell to cut costs and offer freedom. Accessories were made playful, with shell installation as a ritual, a customizable transparent cover, and a later-added wall-mount bracket. Despite this, R400 maintained high quality with a custom core, high SNR, anti-vibration features, long battery life, and versatile connections. It balanced affordability, fun, and quality, becoming a best-seller and breaking the old CD player stereotype, advancing Syitren’s design.
